The recent privatization of land in the Maasai Mara region of Kenya has blocked the migration routes that the Maasai tribe, their livestock, and local wildlife have depended on for centuries. This kills the fauna and threatens the existence of the Maasai. The ‘Garden of Eden’ project is an initiative aimed at restoring these migration routes, as well as creating community wells to provide sustainable water sources.
To help fund materials for and construction of the wells, we set up the new Kilimanjaro Expedition, which will be an attempt to the fastest ever summit of Africa’s tallest mountain, one last time. All of the proceeds go towards the ‘Garden of Eden’ project, and with the expedition being fully booked, we are thrilled to share that construction has started on the first two water wells! Living in harmony with nature, that is the only way! X
